Property in Brazil is popular with young investors

Young investors are buying property in Brazil, according to a new study on the overseas property market.

Research carried out by Datamonitor shows that the South American nation is becoming a property hotspot for younger buyers.

The study showed that high rental yields, low cost of living and popularity as a holiday destination for young travellers have driven the property market in Brazil.

Samantha Gore, head of sales for uv10, said: "We have first-hand proof that Brazil is definitely attracting younger buyers and, in fact, amongst hip twenty and thirty-somethings, emerging property markets such as Brazil which offer very high yields are fast becoming the ‘pensions of the 21st century."

Meanwhile, an article on NuWire Investor also emphasises Brazil's potential as a burgeoning property market.

Ranking the country as second on its Top Latin American Real Estate Markets list in 2007, the website stated that the Brazilian government is actively encouraging foreign investment.

It added that the nation's housing surplus and "flourishing" economy help may make property in Brazil an "attractive option".
