Having survived a turbulent history, Hungary's capital is making up for lost time – and lost revenue – by embracing its new status as a neglected European treasure. Recently NBC's travel fundi, Joel Widzer, advised American tourists, "Think Budapest, not Prague. While both cities have stunning baroque architecture, Budapest has the mighty Danube, fewer crowds and generally lower prices". The latter point also applies to property but, given the current economic situation, prices are certain to rise dramatically meaning that, now more than ever, fortune favours the bold.
