Casa Toro, Alora, Malaga

Casa Toro is in the village of Alora which is situated off the road to Antequera, just 30 minutes inland from Malaga airport. There is a train station outside the village linking Alora to Malaga and the development is also within easy driving distance of Granada airport. The village is a maze of whitewashed houses and steep, cobbled streets lined with lemon trees. All routes meet at the town square, which is overlooked by the 17th century church of La Encarnación.

Residents enjoy a varied lifestyle with plentiful leisure facilities in the surrounding area. The region is popular for bird watching, horse riding, trekking and biking as well as water sports at El Chorro lakes. Monday is market day when the village becomes a bustle of shoppers. The area has a busy social calendar with a fl amenco festival held every June and the festival of `Romería de la Virgen de las Flores´ in September. This is one of the best places to enjoy the traditional verdiales singing and dancing, which originated in the area.
